Take a Tour, See the Vision

Don and Beverly Gardner Center for Great Futures… Coming August 2018
- $4.25 million project
- Serve five times as many kids (250 teens/day)
- Innovative workspaces (culinary kitchen, music studio and career exploration)
The Don and Beverly Gardner Center for Great Futures will be located adjacent to the Lawrence College and Career Center in southeast Lawrence. The partnership between Lawrence Public Schools and Boys & Girls Club is already strong, meaning some key spaces can be shared rather than being duplicated. The College and Career Center will provide Club kids access to a science lab, robotics, a 3D printer, blended learning and technology workspaces and much more. When construction is complete, the Boys & Girls Club teens will go from 6,000-square feet of space in their current facility to an impressive 50,000-square feet.
We invite you to take a tour of the current Boys & Girls Club Teen Center facility and the terrific programming that happens there – despite being at max capacity and overcrowded. In the second part of the tour, we will take you to the construction site of the Center for Great Futures and explain how our building plans will impact Lawrence youth.
If you are interested in scheduling a Hard Hat Tour, please contact Executive Director, Colby Wilson, at cwilson@bgclk.org. For more information about the building visit bgclk.org/greatfutures.
