Increase Visibility of Youth of the Year
- 75% of local government officials attend Youth of the Year
- 75% of current community partners attend at Youth of the Year
- Collaborating with partners such as USD 497 to expand distribution of event details and accessibility to diverse populations to ensure maximum event exposure
- Committing to ensure a welcoming environment so that all parties will experience a sense of belonging
- Consider extending targeted invites to a small group of youth/families from each school/program site
Establish Youth Development as a Community Imperative in Douglas County
- Strengthen Community Partnerships
- Incorporating BGCLK in community-wide initiatives not only as it pertains to youth development programming, but also overall strategy, economic development, and financial support of non-profit agencies
- The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce will incorporate youth development as part of its economic strategy
Engage in Advocacy to Promote Awareness
