Before plans for a new Teen Center took shape, the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence was already dedicated to serving as many middle and high school students that the current facility could hold. Through the years, these kids have stuck by an over-crowded, aging building. Each of them can explain why. These kids are the reason for the Center for Great Futures.

Boys & Girls Club launches the Great Futures Start Here Campaign
Reaching Limitless Lives, Not Limitless Capital
The current Boys & Girls Club Teen Center can only serve 70 kids on a daily basis. Every August, a waiting list develops when enrollment is opened for the city’s middle school and high school students. In total, less than one percent of Lawrence’s middle and high school students can attend the Club. That’s a far cry from the 63 percent of Lawrence’s public elementary school students who belong to the Boys & Girls Club – and the 1,500 students who attend Club activities every day. The Great Futures Start Here campaign is aimed at fixing this problem and providing a safe, healthy and positive environment for the kids in our community that need us the most.
