LAWRENCE, Kan. – When Lawrence Public Schools begins the school year virtually on September 8, Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence will open all-day programming for a LIMITED number of members at a LIMITED number of locations.

The number of children must remain limited to ensure we are adhering to the strict safety regulations laid out by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). Meaning, this all-day program will be targeted specifically to those who need us most. This will include essential employees, low-income families, single parent households, lack of access to technology, food insecurity, foster care, special education and other circumstances. Click here for updated information regarding the definition of essential employees.

EQUITABLE ENROLLMENT: Parent/Guardian Survey

  • Any family who is interested in utilizing the above-outlined services MUST complete the interest survey.
  • As previously stated, this program will be offered on a LIMITED basis. Completion of this survey DOES NOT guarantee enrollment in the all-day distance learning programs beginning on September 8, 2020.
  • Priority for enrollment will be given to those members who literally need us most. If you and your family are selected for a spot, you will be contacted by our administrative staff to complete your enrollment.

FALL ENROLLMENT

Lastly, we know that many of our parents and guardians completed fall enrollment when we opened the Parent Portal in May. That enrollment DOES NOT APPLY to this all-day programming beginning on September 8, 2020. When Lawrence Public Schools reopen with a hybrid or full-time schedule, your fall enrollment will be honored at that time. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience. Please understand that we are working tirelessly to ensure that enrollment for all-day programming is as equitable as possible.
