The 2018 Lawrence Youth of the Year event, presented by Peoples Bank, is the premier recognition program for Boys & Girls Club. Club members who earn the Youth of the Year title embody the values of leadership service, academic excellence and healthy lifestyles. They exemplify the powerful impact that Boys & Girls Club has on the lives of young people.

You will have the opportunity to meet special Lawrence candidates who have spent months preparing for this event. One will be selected to participate in the state competition. State winners advance to regional competitions; regional winners advance to the National Youth of the Year competition.

Jazmyne McNair of Lawrence was named the Kansas Youth of the Year in 2016, making her the third Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence winner to represent Kansas at the regional level in the last six years. Trei Dudley of Lawrence went on to earn the national title in 2012.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America serves nearly four million young people each year, through membership and community outreach.
